NHR Records is proud to announce the re-release of classic material from the Canadian thrash/death masters OVERTHROW. This release contains the long-out-of-print 1990 debut CD "Within Suffering" (recorded by Tom Morris [MORBID ANGEL] and Scott Burns [SEPULTURA, OBITUARY, DEATH], and mixed by Scott Burns at the legendary Morrisound Studios) and 1989 demo "Bodily Domination" (recorded and mixed by thrash pioneer Brian Taylor [SACRIFICE, SLAUGHTER] at Umbrella Sound Studios). The release contains both releases in their entirety, including demo-only exclusive tracks with the full package being completely re-mastered by James Block of Rebarbative Productions (who has worked on releases by THE RAVENOUS, SIGH, ABCESS, INQUISITION, GEIMHRE, and XASTHUR). For fans of Sepultura, Obituary, Death, Sacrifice, Slaughter.

**REVIEW**
At long last!!! I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for this reissue to come out. From way back in my drunken high school haze came one T.O band that stood the tests of time and left a mark like no other from those days. My unbelievably worn and tattered Overthrow "Within Suffering" and "Bodily Domination" cassettes can easily testify to that fact. When something is on a semi-steady rotation for nearly 20 years, you know you're on to something.

So here it is, a nearly 80 minute slab of all the best that this classic proto-death/thrash band had to offer and now completely remastered and packaged to bring it into the 2K era. First I'll start off with what's new and then gush about the old recordings. First, the packaging is pretty good and an improvement on the earlier, long out-of-print release of "Withing Suffering". Made up of a 12 card poster style insert featuring full lyrics and thanks lists (from the original releases no less!), a couple of well written liner notes outlining the impact of early day Overthrow, and a lovely old school photo/flyer/ticket collage taking up the inside of the cover, this surely will bring back fond memories to those who were there and to bring up to date those who weren't. Next up we get to the music itself; this CD contains the complete debut release, demo and live tracks from a show at the sadly defunct Apocalyspe Club from their hayday. First is the "Within Suffering" release that was great to begin with but now has been just remastered enough to be a little wider stereophonically (those who know recording will know that Morrisound wasn't good for this in the old days) and as loud and thick as you'd expect death'thrash to be in this era. Then comes the demo recording. Just to be able to have this is woth the price of admission itself. Containing two excellent tracks that weren't part of the debut release, this beast roars with an intensity and rawness that really bleed through the speakers when listening. Sounding better than it ever did on my weather beaten cassette surely adds to it's cause but this is truly a classic demo recording regardless. Then we have the live tracks from the Apocalyspe filling out the proceedings. This show was recorded just before the band disbanded and displayed the live vitality and ferocity that the band let loose so many times on so many nights when the local scene was thriving with some of the best underground metal happening in world at the time. Not just another soundboard toss on, these tracks were recorded surprisingly well by James Cavaluzzo of Industrial-Metal pioneers Malhavoc and just add to the overall listening experience of the CD. It's actually just a treat to have these tracks unearthed for all to hear.

There is abolutely no need to get into this release track to track as everything here is top quality, grade A stuff and if you were like me and stuck with the old tapes or if you sadly missed out on one of the scenes best and most underrated acts then ladies and gentlemen, your boat has arrived. File this one right in beside your "Beneath the Remains", "Slaughter in the Vatican", and "Epidemic of Violence" CDs because it fits without a doubt and deserves recognition as one of the brighter releases from the best time that Metal had to offer.
